Many of the artists in Offline have contributed stories about treasured objects they have lost. You can read these on their web pages.

There are many reasons to argue that our world is abandoning objects

bulletDiscretionary income is directed more to services and less to goods
bulletElectronic processes reduce our need for physical objects such as paper
bulletHierlooms no longer passed on between generations
bulletEcological concern to reduce consumption of material things

Are objects the ballast we cast away as we cruise into the new millennium?

This memoriam is designed to contain the stories of lost objects and therefore acknowledge the passing of the material age. These objects were precious not only for their usefulness, but also because of the sentimental feelings attached to them.

Where do those feelings go now?

Your contribution need only be short.

Here's the archive so far.
