Statement

At university, my research was focused in the new field of narrative psychology, exploring the aesthetic dimension of everyday life, particularly in travel stories. Seeking ‘real world' experience, I then took up a residency as a writer in a craft centre. This led to an exciting period working freelance, where I was able to contribute articles and curate nationally touring exhibitions in the new field of contemporary craft. I then took up the responsibility of Director at Craft Victoria, where for eight years I was able to develop a number of initiatives including the South Project, a four-year program of south-south cultural exchange. During this time the organisation doubled its staff and tripled its turnover.
